Grilled Steak with Mushroom and Beer Sauce*

At House of BBQ Experts, we know every steak cooked on the grill creates special moments. It’s carefully selected, then prepared and cooked to perfection before being savoured in good company.
During barbecue season, keep in mind that no matter how you prefer to cook your steak, it always tastes even better with a homemade sauce made with simple and fresh ingredients. This Mushroom and Beer Sauce fits the bill and is sure to enhance the flavour of your steak!


  1. Grill steak to desired doneness. Season to taste.
  2. Let steak finish cooking slowly; avoid placing it directly over the heat. Meanwhile, place a cast iron skillet on the grill and sauté five or six sliced mushrooms in a tablespoon of butter until golden brown.
  3. In a bowl, mix two tablespoons of cornstarch and about one-third of a can of cold Budweiser. Set aside.
  4. Add House of BBQ Experts California spices to the mushrooms, along with fresh thyme and another third of a can of Budweiser.
  5. Stir beer and cornstarch mixture into skillet with mushrooms and reduce for one or two minutes, or until desired consistency is reached.

Pour the sauce over your steak and enjoy!

BBQ Beer Can Chicken

Everyone agrees that battered beer can chicken is a classic, must-try dish. Cooking a whole chicken on the grill may seem like an ambitious project, but it’s actually easy to do. All you need to do is use the right technique, ingredients and accessories. The result? Juicy meat with crispy skin!


  1. Place a 1.5 kg (3 lb) chicken in a bowl and sprinkle with House of BBQ Experts Western and Caribbean spices.
  2. Chop up some of your favorite veggies, sprinkle them with House of BBQ Experts California and Caribbean spices, and add them to the bottom of the beer can roaster rack.
  3. Insert a can of Budweiser into the holder, then place the chicken on the can. Budweiser is the perfect beer for this recipe because its delicate taste pairs perfectly with chicken.
  4. Place the roaster rack on the barbecue and cook indirectly until the chicken’s internal temperature reaches 75°C (170°F).

Beer Injected Pulled Pork

Pulled pork is a staple BBQ recipe to which grill enthusiasts enjoy adding their own twist. Everyone loves this easy-to-make dish that’s ideal for entertaining or for cooking in large quantities for later use. This basic recipe yields succulent pulled pork you can put your own spin on if you want!


  1. With a meat syringe, inject half a can of Budweiser into the pork.
  2. Coat the meat with House of BBQ Experts Sweet Kansas spices.
  3. Barbecue at 110°C (230°F) for two hours.
  4. Wrap the meat in aluminum foil along with half a cup of Budweiser and three tablespoons of honey.
  5. Return to the grill, and barbecue at 150°C (295°F) until the meat’s internal temperature reaches 95°C (205°F) and as little resistance as possible when you insert the thermometer.
  6. Let stand for one third of the cooking time, shred the meat, top with your favorite BBQ sauce and serve!
